Bodoni is where Elsie starts, with all the strength of that model. Alejandro Inler then let italic curves into the upright letters, so the Didone frame gets softer, rounder turns here and there, and the result is his own reading of Bodoni with more expression in the details. He made it with Ana Sanfelippo, for the world of fashion and glamour.
There are 2 weights, a Regular and a Black, both meant for large display sizes, and a few stylistic alternates. A second family, Elsie Swash Caps, adds flourished capitals with the same 2 weights.
The Black is what we would reach for on a magazine cover or a perfume box, big and with the hairlines given room to show. At small sizes the thin strokes fade, so leave small text to something sturdier.
