Erode takes its name from a city in Tamil Nadu. Nikhil Ranganathan developed it with Indian Type Foundry in 2015, Jeremie Hornus also credited, as a serif with clear contrast between thick and thin, long ascenders and open counters.
ITF aims it at editorial display work, pull quotes and headlines. On Fontshare the family has 5 weights, each with an italic; this page offers the Regular.
It sets on the small side for its size, so give it a step up when it replaces another serif on an article title or a book cover.
