Omnibus-Type has a Press Series, a group of families aimed at editorial work, and Faustina is a serif Alfonso Garcia drew for it. Print and screen were both in the plan from the start.

It reads like a working text face. The family runs from Light to Extra Bold, 6 weights each with an italic, and in September 2019 it became a variable font. For the fiddly parts of a news page there are old style and lining figures in tabular and proportional versions, plus a slashed zero.

The italics are a little narrower than the romans, useful for a summary line under a headline or a picture caption where a few extra words have to fit.

A daily paper’s website could run on it top to bottom, Extra Bold headlines over Regular body.
