Buttons and short labels set in capitals are where Erik Kennedy says Figtree still has some punch, and that tells you what it was built for: web and mobile apps. In running text it is light-hearted and crisp, a clean geometric sans that never gets cold. Push it to the heavy end and the character turns friendlier, good for the headlines of a brand that wants to sound like a person.
There are 7 weights, Light through Black, and in November 2022 Kennedy added italics to complete the family, so the download comes to 14 styles. Over 280 languages written in Latin are covered.
The features list leans practical. Tabular figures line up in tables and prices, fractions and superscripts are there for the odd recipe or footnote, and 2 stylistic sets offer alternates.
We would put it on a product dashboard without hesitation. On a long editorial page it is fine, if a little plain.
