Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Stuff happens. Then you call us.
An insurance company ended up with a typeface that has a few faults left in. Hedvig, a digital insurer, had a brand line, “Stuff happens”, and Kanon Foundry took it literally: the optical corrections that type designers normally slip in to make shapes look even were left out, and so some letters in Hedvig Letters Serif look slightly off, on purpose.
Alexander Örn and Tor Weibull drew it with Hedvig’s own design team. The Serif is the voice for the short, lively copy, the headline on a landing page or the line in an ad, and its partner Hedvig Letters Sans takes the everyday work.
There is 1 Regular weight, with fractions, superscripts and subscripts, contextual alternates and 1 stylistic set. Use it big. In a headline the quirks can be seen and do their job, while in small paragraph text they mostly blur into ordinary type, and then why choose it?
