There is not a single curve in Hoover. Gaetan Baehr built every letter, the round ones included, out of straight horizontal, vertical and diagonal strokes, and kept the stroke weight even throughout, which gives a monolinear slab serif with a strong whiff of American and British college athletics. Think of the lettering on a varsity jacket.

The Indian Type Foundry published it, and it has been on Fontshare since March 2021, with 5 weights from Thin to Bold in the full family and the Regular on this page. The lowercase is fairly short under tall capitals.

Fontshare suggests schools and sports teams, and that is the right place: a team name on a jersey, or the cover of a yearbook.
