Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

17 stylistic sets sit in Annapurna SIL, a lot of alternates for a text face. SIL International built the family to support the many diverse languages that are written in Devanagari.
The family goes back to 2007, and Google Fonts added it in January 2024. Regular and Bold, with contextual alternates and a Latin alongside. For a dictionary, a grammar or a field report in a less widely printed Devanagari language, this is where we would look first.
