Tighter letter spacing is the one change, and the whole reason the family exists. Rasmus Andersson made Inter Tight as a specialized version of his Inter for display sizes, where the original spacing starts to look loose.
Everything else carries over. 18 styles, Thin to Black, each with its italic. Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese next to the Latin, 2,504 characters in all. Tabular figures, a slashed zero, 5 stylistic sets, case sensitive forms for all-caps lines, and even a set of squared Latin letters, the boxed kind.
Our rule of thumb is Inter for text and Inter Tight for anything set big, a slide title, a hero line on a landing page. Used together on 1 page they look like a single family, because they are.
