Grand opening this Saturday
Suon May Sophanith started from the brush strokes people use to write on walls in Cambodia and turned each of those strokes into a leaf. The result is a Khmer display face with an outdoor, hand painted energy, drawn as foliage.
The first release came in 2015. Google added it in February 2023, with a Latin alphabet in the same file for bilingual work, and the OpenType tables carry glyph composition and localized forms.
The designer intended it for headings and large type, and we agree. 1 Regular weight, display only: a poster, or the title card of a video with the English line under the Khmer.
