Poems for a slow evening
The ends of Kurale’s strokes curl over, and those little curls reach toward the next letter, so a word set in it hangs together as a single shape and a page of it gets a fine, even texture. Eduardo Tunni, a type designer in Buenos Aires, derived it from Gabriela, keeping the soft Latin and Cyrillic and adding a Devanagari.
That Devanagari is a modulated design, drawn to sit comfortably next to the Latin in the same line. Tunni pitches Kurale both ways, readable in small text and with enough detail in a headline to hold the eye, and we would lean toward the first: a book page or a long article mixing Devanagari and Latin is where it shows what it can do. 1 style, no italic or bold, on Google Fonts since May 2015.
