Sedan’s italic is far tighter than its roman, close to 17% narrower over the same words, and that is the first thing to know if you plan to set whole passages in it.
Sebastián Salazar drew it as a Garalde for publications, from magazines to scholarly journals, with balanced proportions and gentle contrast. There is only 1 weight, Regular plus its Italic, so bold subheads will need another face. What it does have is the small kit of good book work: small caps, old style and lining figures, discretionary ligatures and fractions.
A sister family, Sedan SC, carries the small caps on their own.
