Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Lisu Bosa starts from LisuTzimu, the regular David Morse first drew in 1998. SIL International revised it from 2019 on, added bold and italic styles, and has since opened it out into 16 styles, Extra Light to Black, every weight with an italic.
The goal, as SIL puts it, is a free font family for all current languages and writing systems that use the Lisu script, also known as Fraser. Annie Olsen and Victor Gaultney worked on it with Morse. The Latin glyphs come from Adobe, with Frank Grießhammer credited for them.
Italics in 8 weights are what we would point to first. A Lisu school reader or newsletter can mark emphasis or a book title the way an English one would, and the italics run a little narrower than the romans, so they don’t stretch a line.
