Spring collections arrive in Milan

Santiago Orozco gave Antic Didone very small, ornate serifs, and at headline size they give the page a fine, prickly texture of its own. It was made for the headlines of newspapers and magazines, and it is 1 member of Orozco’s Antic Type System, a group of families meant to be mixed so that a page can run a headline in 1 and the text in another and still hang together.

The whole system shares a big x-height and a slight stress that comes from handwriting. Orozco called the system a work in progress and asked readers to send him requests and improvements.

There is 1 style, Regular, and only Latin. Keep it big. Those tiny serifs are the reason to use it, and they disappear first when the size drops.
