2 dragons, 🐉 and 🐲, and a laptop sit at the very end of the character set, about as much play as a corporate text face allows itself.

Mozilla Text came out of the company’s brand refresh, announced in December 2024 and led by the agency Jones Knowles Ritchie, who said the new type had grown from Mozilla’s earlier slab serif. The London studio Studio DRAMA drew it, with creative directors Chris Nott and Will Richardson, senior type designer Florian Runge, type designers Fred Wiltshire and Tom Baber, and Igino Marini on production. Mozilla Headline is its partner for display, and the family won the type design category of Creative Review’s Annual Awards in 2025.

What sets it apart in use is the uniwidth design. Spacing and kerning are identical across all 6 weights, Extra Light at 200 to Bold at 700, so a menu item that turns bold when selected, or a button that thickens on hover, never pushes the rest of the line along. In a browser’s own interface, full of states like that, we can see why Mozilla wanted it.

Latin and Latin Extended are covered, with a slashed zero, fractions and 1 stylistic set.
