Sara Ba Thaw created the Lisu alphabet in 1915 and James O. Fraser improved it, which is why it also goes by Fraser script, and they built it on the Latin alphabet. China made it the official script for the Lisu language in 1992. Around 1 million people use it, in China, Myanmar, India and Thailand, and it writes Lipo, Naxi, Zaiwa and Lakkia as well.

The Monotype Design Team and David Williams drew this Noto version, a plain sans in 4 weights from Regular to Bold covering the 58 characters of the Lisu block.
