Counting in twenties

A dot for 1, a bar for 5 and a shell for 0. From those 3 marks the Maya built all 20 digits of their base 20 counting, 0 to 19, and wrote bigger numbers as stacked rows, each row up worth another power of 20, read from top to bottom. The Long Count calendar bent the rule at the third place, which counts 360 there in place of 400.

The numerals came into Unicode in version 11.0, in 2018, as a block of 20 characters. Jameson Quinn had proposed them in 2016. This font gives them a plain Noto drawing by the Monotype Design Team, with a Latin set so the explanation can sit in the same font as the figures.

A math teacher or a museum label would get the most out of it.
