A gloss in the margin
Pau Cin Hau was a man before he was a script. Around 1902 he created a writing system for the Zomi language in what is now Myanmar, and in its first form it was logographic, a sign for a word. In 1932 it was cut down to an alphabet, written left to right, and used by the followers of the Laipian religion and later by Christians.
Google’s Noto project covers it here with 62 glyphs for 61 characters from the Unicode block, drawn by Monotype’s design team as an unmodulated sans. Latin with the extended accents sits in the same Regular file.
A short script for a small community, and a font that will mostly be found in linguistics papers and library catalogs, where a Pau Cin Hau line needs a Latin gloss beside it.
