From around 700 until the 1950s, Sharada was used to write Kashmiri and Sanskrit, at first across India and later in Kashmir alone. Today its use is narrower still: the Kashmiri Pandits keep it for religious and ceremonial purposes.
That gives this font a small, specific audience. A community printing a prayer book, a scholar transcribing a manuscript. For them, Noto Sans Sharada is the unmodulated sans design in Google’s Noto collection, by the Monotype design team, with the Vedic Extensions block covered and a Latin alongside for notes.
Sharada is an abugida, written left to right, partly with a headstroke, and it relies on complex text layout, so the app you set it in has to do the shaping. 1 Regular style.
