Buddhists in Japan still write Siddham now and then, a long way from where it began. The script was used for Sanskrit from about 600 to 1200 CE, first in southern India and later in China, Japan and Korea. It is an abugida, running left to right, and needs shaping support in the software to display properly.
Noto Sans Siddham is the unmodulated design for it in the Noto collection, from Monotype’s design team, added to Google Fonts in November 2020. 6 stylistic sets hold alternate forms, and a Latin alphabet comes along for transliterations.
A manuscript catalog or a course reader on the script is where it belongs.
