A Note On The Page
Passions Conflict · Regular
A short letter, set in the family.
Thursday afternoon
Dear Alex,
I left the book by the window. There is a note on page twenty-three that I thought you would like. Bring it along on Thursday; we can finish the conversation over coffee.
See you there.

When Rob Leuschke drew Passions Conflict in 2004, embellished letterforms were still rare in fonts, and he counts it among the very first to make use of them. It also shows his habit of mixing lettering styles in a single design.
The capitals take the adornment, each one dressed up as its own small set piece. The lowercase is tiny next to them, hardly a third of the capital height, and blends into them as a quiet, narrow run of script. A line of it takes much less room than you would guess.
So the capitals do the work. A monogram, or a single name across the top of a card. Let the first letter be big and leave space for it.
