Hand painted price cards in supermarkets were where Rodrigo Fuenzalida and Pablo Impallari began, and they crossed that loose shop-window lettering with the proportions of classical roman letters. The pair put it out in 2012.
Display faces usually want to be big and nothing else. Poetsen One’s makers asked a little more of theirs, saying the large x-height lets it carry a short paragraph at a modest size, and the proportions back them up: the lowercase climbs to 79% of the capital height, which is very tall.
So a 2 or 3 sentence blurb at 18 px under a headline works fine. A whole page would not, with 1 Regular style and no bold or italic to change gear into.
Menus, shelf tags, a jar label. The 441 characters cover the extended Latin accents, and fractions and ordinals are in there for prices and quantities.
