Saluton, mia kara amiko
Prociono, pronounced pro-tsee-O-no, is Esperanto, and the word means 2 things: Procyon, the brightest star in the constellation Canis Minor, and the raccoon. Barry Schwartz gave the name to a roman with blackletter elements worked into it.
Schwartz first released it through The League of Moveable Type, the open source type collective that still hosts it, and it arrived on Google Fonts on 31 August 2011, the same day as his Fanwood Text. His other families there are Goudy Bookletter 1911, Sorts Mill Goudy and Linden Hill.
1 Regular style with a stylistic set and alternates, ligatures included, and the accents needed for Esperanto among the many languages it covers. Good for a title page or a short poem; we would think twice before setting a whole novel in a face with this much character.
