How do you show “text goes here” in a wireframe without anyone stopping to read Lorem ipsum? Christian Naths answered with a font nobody can read. Type a paragraph in Redacted and every word turns into a solid bar, the way a censored document looks after the black marker has been through it, so the layout shows its rhythm of lines and gaps and nothing else.
It came out in 2013 alongside a looser sibling, Redacted Script, which gives the bars a scribbled, sketchy look for early concept drawings. This one is the tidy version, 1 Regular style that sets quite narrow, so placeholder lines wrap about where real copy would.
Wireframes and mockups, then, and nothing a reader is ever meant to see.
