Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Rosarivo was drawn with the letterpress in mind, and that is why a page of it looks paler than most roman text faces. Pablo Ugerman started it as his project for the postgraduate Typeface Design course at the University of Buenos Aires in 2011.
The forms are calligraphic and humanist, with marked contrast, strokes that change weight gradually and long ascenders and descenders. Those tall extenders want room, and Ugerman intended the face for long texts set with generous line spacing; squeeze the leading and the ascenders start colliding with the descenders above.
Its italic is the surprise. Set the same line in it and in the roman and the italic comes out 12.4% shorter, a properly narrow companion, which makes it good for quotations and asides in a delicate editorial layout.
Only Regular and Italic exist, no bold. On Google Fonts since March 2012.
