Notes on the Glagolitic alphabet
Old Church Slavonic texts come down in 2 alphabets, Cyrillic and Glagolitic, and Shafarik sets both for scholarly use. Aleksandr Andreev packed in 1,815 characters, a set of stylistic alternates and 5 stylistic sets for variant forms.
Its namesake is Pavel Jozef Šafárik, who lived from 1795 to 1861, was Slovak by birth, and counts among the founders of modern Slavic philology. Fitting, then. There is a single Regular style and a Latin set for the apparatus around the text.
