Tauri doesn’t announce itself. Yvonne Schüttler drew a semi condensed sans with restraint and rigor and let its quirks surface slowly, the more you set with it. Its natural range is small to medium sizes. At headline size it works too, but tighten the spacing first.
The lowercase is tall, so text stays clear at small sizes, and the 1 Regular weight covers Latin and Latin Extended.
Schüttler is a German designer in Frankfurt with an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, where she drew a newspaper face for Latin and Telugu called Mina. Her other Google Fonts families are Voltaire, Poller One, Krona One and Calistoga, and Tauri is the quiet one in that set.
