A Page In Uchen

Headings, labels and running text.

Notes From The Reading Room

The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.

A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Morning prayers in Thimphu

Christopher J. Fynn drew Uchen for the Dzongkha Development Commission, which holds the copyright, dated 2010. It is a Unicode Tibetan font in the Uchen style, meant for desktop publishing, with the subjoined letters and contextual alternates the script needs for shaping.

Over 2,400 glyphs sit in 1 Regular style, with a little Latin. Government forms and schoolbooks in Dzongkha would be its everyday work.
