Set Japanese text in a mincho and the punctuation ought to be mincho as well. YakuHanMP is the half-width punctuation of Qrac’s YakuHanJP project drawn for that case. Its marks are taken from Noto Serif JP.
The 54 characters are all Japanese punctuation and brackets, among them 、 and 。, 「」 and 『』, 【】, the full-width ！ and ？, and the colon and semicolon, each narrowed to half a square so a bracketed title or a run of marks stops opening holes in the line. Vertical presentation forms of the brackets and marks are included as well.
In CSS it goes ahead of the main font in font-family, and the browser fetches the punctuation from YakuHanMP and falls back to the next font, say Noto Serif JP, for everything else. For places with no font stack, OG images or a game engine, the project offers versions merged into the original fonts.
7 weights, Extra Light 200 to Black 900. We would match the weight of the text face weight for weight, since a light bracket around a bold word shows.
