YakuHanRP has no letters in it. Its 7 weights hold only Japanese punctuation, the 、 and 。 marks, brackets such as 「」 and 『』, the full-width ！ and ？, colons and the middle dot, and each one is drawn at half width, where Japanese typesetting normally gives them a whole square and leaves gaps around a bracketed word in a headline.

You put it first in the CSS font-family list, before the Japanese font, and the browser takes the punctuation from YakuHanRP and everything else from the font behind it. RP is the round gothic member of Qrac’s YakuHanJP project, based on M PLUS Rounded 1c, so it suits a rounded Japanese face; the gothic and mincho versions follow Noto Sans JP and Noto Serif JP. Where there is no font stack, OG images or games, the project offers merged fonts.
