Jakob Ekelund drew Zalando Sans at KH Type in Stockholm in 2025, working with the brand and product design teams of Zalando, the fashion retailer, in Berlin. The full family is variable on 2 axes, weight from Extra Light to Black and width from Condensed to Expanded, with matching italics. This page has the far end of the width range, cut into static fonts.

The style underneath is a grotesque, plain in its construction, with a few small quirks left in. Stretched out to Expanded the letters take a lot of horizontal room, and that makes it a face for short copy: a campaign line, a sale banner, the name of a brand set large across a tile.

16 styles, 8 weights with italics. Tabular and proportional figures, fractions and 3 stylistic sets come along, so prices sit in columns if you need them to.

Keep the Extra Light for big sizes only. In a narrow mobile banner the Bold or Black at Expanded width will fill the space with fewer letters than you expect, so write short.
