The heavier you go in Alan Sans, the more it misbehaves, and that is on purpose. The Light and Regular stay close to a plain grotesque that can sit in an app without drawing attention; by Extra Bold and Black much more of its personality shows, the side the company wanted for marketing.
Alan commissioned it as its own corporate typeface and calls it “not so corporate”. Raphaël Ronot and Samar Zureik designed it on a traditional grotesque skeleton and then softened the treatment. It arrived on Google Fonts in 2025.
7 weights, upright only, Latin with the extended accents. The feature list is generous for a brand face: old style and lining figures, tabular figures for prices and tables, case sensitive punctuation and 3 stylistic sets. Try the Black for a big promo line and Regular for the form underneath it.
