Fresh bread every weekday morning
Look at the A, the V and the W in Alatsi. Their points come to a sharp tip, a little cheeky against the round, semi-condensed geometric shapes around them, and together with the way the terminals are cut that is where its contemporary air comes from. The x-height is modest, which calms it down again.
Spyros Zevelakis designed it and Sorkin Type published it, with Eben Sorkin credited beside him. For a single style it has a generous set of figures, old style, lining, tabular and proportional, plus numerators and denominators for proper fractions, case-sensitive forms and a slashed zero. An update in November 2022 widened the Latin to cover most languages written in it, Vietnamese included, and the Regular now holds 1,024 characters.
There is no bold, so it works best where hierarchy comes from size: a brand’s headings, or the labels on a chart.
