Geometry and Arabic calligraphy pull in different directions, and Beiruti tries to satisfy both. Arlette Boutros built the Arabic from clean, modern construction, yet the letters still keep to the rules a calligrapher would follow, so joins and proportions stay where an Arabic reader expects them.
The Latin is a separate hand. Volker Schnebel drew it as a companion, matched to the Arabic so a bilingual page sits together, which is most of what a café menu in 2 languages or an Arabic app interface asks for.
8 weights here, Extra Light at 200 to Black at 900. The figures come old style or lining, tabular or proportional, and fractions are built in, handy for price lists.
Our view: the middle weights for reading on screen, the Black for a shopfront.
