Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Belgrano was a newspaper slab before it was a web font. For the screen version its makers roughened the terminals and opened up the counters, the spaces inside letters, so it would hold together at very small sizes.
It comes from LatinoType, the Chilean foundry that Luciano Vergara and Daniel Hernández founded in 2007, and Hernández is the designer named in the font. 1 Regular style for Latin. Captions and datelines on a news site are a good test of what it was built for.
