Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Notice how small the lowercase is. In Bellefair the x-height comes to only 53% of the capital height, so the capitals tower over the small letters and a line in mixed case reads as formal, almost ceremonial.
Nick Shinn drew the Latin first. Liron Lavi Turkenich then designed a Hebrew for the same project, matched to the Latin in style and in the weight it puts on a page, so a bilingual invitation can run both scripts in 1 face without either looking borrowed.
A single Regular, 465 characters. That tiny x-height argues for display sizes; at 11 or 12 px the lowercase would shrink to almost nothing, but at the top of a program or a book jacket it looks right.
