Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Notes from Phnom Penh
The contrast and the ornament in this Latin serif were borrowed from Khmer typefaces and Khmer writing. Carolina Giovagnoli and Andrés Torresi of HT Fonts let those habits into the Latin letters with 1 clear purpose: Latin text that has to sit on the same page as Khmer and look as if it belongs there.
Outside that setting it still works as an ordinary text serif, about as wide as Georgia. There is only a Regular, though, with no italic and no bold, so for a book you would need a partner face for emphasis. Google Fonts has carried it since December 2011.
