Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Notes from the reading room
Crete Round began as a house font for Letter2, a type design competition, cut from TypeTogether’s earlier Crete. It has drifted further from its parent since, with new terminals and serifs that soften it and make it feel more current.
What it keeps is a low-contrast slab with a tall x-height and sturdy serifs, a combination that holds up well on screens.
The italic is the curiosity. It fills the same width as the roman to within a hair, so you can put a word into italic and the line will not rewrap. Regular and Italic are all there is, Latin with the extended accents and kerning.
