In South Australia, children in years 1 and 2 are taught a plain sloped print known as the Beginners Alphabet, and they move on to Pre-Cursive in year 3. Edu SA Beginner is that first alphabet as a font.
Why a font per state? The states do not all teach the same style, and a teacher of 4 to 9 year olds has to stick to the one their own state mandates. Tina and Corey Anderson drew 5 Foundation Fonts to cover them, and Google for Education Australia worked with Google Fonts to get them into Google Workspace, which matters in schools running on Chromebooks.
The Regular is as thick as a pencil stroke, so a printed worksheet shows letters the way a child is asked to make them. 3 heavier weights go up to Bold, handy for a title at the top of the page. The set is small, 126 characters, and it includes common math symbols for number work.

Install On Your Computer
Extract the ZIP first. On Windows, select the font files and choose Install from the context menu. On macOS, open the files in Font Book and choose Install.
