The ferry left before dawn
Long ascenders, long descenders. Viktoriya Grabowska gave Fjord One tall extenders around a modest x-height, built it sturdy, and set prominent serifs on low contrast strokes. Grabowska drew it for printed books, long texts in small print sizes, with the feeling of both Renaissance and contemporary type in mind, and Sorkin Type puts its floor on screen at 12 px.
The catch is that there is only a Regular. A book needs an italic, so for long reading you would have to borrow emphasis from another family. As a headline face, or in corporate design, which the designer also suggests, the single style matters less. 270 characters, Western European Latin.
