The shapes in Funnel Sans were taken from data points, from how they look and how they move. NORD ID and Kristian Möller drew it for a company called Funnel, along with a louder sister, Funnel Display, and you can find the idea in the letters themselves, which mix square forms with circular ones.
It is a working sans first. 6 weights from Light at 300 to Extra Bold at 800, each with an italic exactly as wide as its roman, and the dull but necessary features: tabular figures for columns of numbers, proportional ones for text, fractions, case sensitive punctuation for all caps headings. Google added the family in September 2024 and Dicotype maintains the source.
We would put it on help pages and in dashboards, Regular at 15 or 16 px with Semi Bold for the headings. There are no old style figures, which is the only reason we would hesitate to set a long article in it.
