Look at the dot on the i. It is square. IBM Plex Mono, the font iA Writer Mono was cut from, has round ones, and swapping them was part of a 2018 redesign in which Information Architects took the IBM look out of its writing fonts. Curves on a, j, f, l, t, y and Q were reworked in the same pass.

Why a monospace for prose? iA calls its app the digital equivalent of a typewriter. To them a monospaced page looks like a draft, which is what it is, the even rhythm slows the writer down a little, and the wide gaps between words keep each one separate. For years the app offered only Nitti from Bold Monday. Duo arrived in 2017 and Quattro in 2018, and all 3, Mono with them, are cut from IBM Plex and bundled with iA Writer on every platform it runs on.

Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic. 746 characters take in Latin with Vietnamese and Cyrillic, and the OpenType side has a slashed zero, fractions, superscripts and 5 stylistic sets of alternate letters.

It will do for code. Its real home, we think, is a long Markdown draft, where the bold and the italic show you the emphasis you typed and nothing on the page pretends to be finished.
