Thai teenagers write with loops, and Kodchasan starts from that handwriting. Kansuda Peamprajakpong kept it controlled, though, formal enough to set a page and never comic, so the result reads as soft-spoken and casual at once. Cadson Demak pitches it at content for adolescents.
It came out of the national fonts project of SIPA, Thailand’s Software Industry Promotion Agency, and arrived on Google Fonts in August 2018 in a batch of Cadson Demak’s Thai families that also included KoHo, Mali, Niramit, Srisakdi, K2D and Chakra Petch.
12 styles, 6 weights from Extra Light to Bold with italics that keep the width of the uprights. The Latin, with Vietnamese, sets fairly wide and matches the friendly tone. Cadson Demak, founded in 2002, was the first Thai communication design firm to take on type design, and has been a dedicated foundry since 2008.
