Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

Lusitana takes its letters from the type of a famous book, the 1572 first edition of The Lusiads, Luís Vaz de Camões’s epic poem of Portugal. Ana Paula Megda drew it for long texts at small sizes, and Google added it in January 2012.
The family is a Regular and a Bold, 209 characters each with kerning, and no italic. A novel would miss that italic. Poetry set in short lines with few emphasized words suits it better, and the Bold can take the titles.
