The League of Moveable Type sums Ostrich Sans up by its very long neck, and the name follows from that. Tyler Finck drew it tall and packed tight, so a line of it takes about 29% less width than the same words in Arial, which is how a gig poster fits a long band name across the top without shrinking it.
It first went out on The League’s own site more than 15 years ago, and the full family in the League’s repository goes further than the 4 weights on this page, with a Dashed thin, a Rounded medium, an Inline that has italics and a round Heavy.
This page has Light, Regular, Bold and Black, with accented Latin and kerning. Keep it big. In a paragraph the narrow letters start to crowd each other.
