Write the slogan once, then decide how angry it should sound. Octavio Pardo built his Protest Types so that Strike, Guerrilla and Riot share exactly the same spacing and kerning, so you can swap 1 for another on a finished poster and not a single line length moves. The project started as his own study of the shapes and voices of protest signs, and it now runs to 4 families.
Strike is the steady member of the set, a firm sans that keeps its temper.
There is more inside than a poster face needs: old style figures as well as lining, fractions, case sensitive forms, the Vietnamese accents. Its lowercase stands tall against the capitals, which helps a mixed case slogan read from across the street.
