Postcards from a small piazza

An Italian poster from the Second World War, lettered with a brush, gave Joana Correia the idea for Quando. She turned those brushy letters into a serif for text on the web, kept the contrast low so it would survive screens and small sizes, and let a few characters keep their quirks; the a, g, x and Q are the ones to look at.

Its lowercase is tall and the whole face sets wide. That helps at small sizes and costs you words on every line.

Sorkin Type Co. published it in 2012, 1 Regular with no bold. A friendly choice for a short blog or a café website, if 1 style is enough for you.
