Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

3,297 kanji is the count mshio gives for this version of Sawarabi Mincho, on top of hiragana, katakana and a set of ruled lines. It is a mincho, the serif style of Japanese type, and the designer pitched it at text and headlines alike.
A Braille subset rides along as well, which few fonts bother with. Sawarabi Gothic is the related sans family.
1 Regular, no bold. Give it long Japanese reading, where a single weight is enough.
