Scada began life in 2005 as a house font. Jovanny Lemonad drew it for the corporate identity of Scada.lv, a design studio in Latvia, and for 6 years it belonged to them alone. In 2011 the studio decided to let it go public, and over the next 6 months the font was reworked, improved and grown into a family.
It came out with a modern style designed for small sizes, joining Neucha, Days One and Cuprum among Lemonad’s Latin and Cyrillic families on Google Fonts. Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic, with Latin and Cyrillic. The italic runs exactly as wide as the roman, so switching to it inside a sentence does not change the line length.
For an annual report, a company website or any bilingual Russian and English document, it is a sound workhorse.
