Notes From The Reading Room
The reading room opens onto a quiet courtyard. Along the shelves, small handwritten labels mark the collections. A visitor leaves a book open beside the window, keeping a place for the next reader.
A heading marks the next chapter. The margins leave room for a note while the text continues across the page.

A letter home from Jeonju
Myeongjo is the serif style of Hangul, and Song Myung is a modern version of it: less ornament on the strokes, and consonant shapes drawn larger than usual so syllables read clearly. JIKJI SOFT, the Korean foundry behind it, has been at work since 2004 and is known for families such as SM Classic, built from drawings by the pioneering designer Choi Jeong-ho.
The character set covers the 2,350 precomposed syllables of the KS X 1001 standard, the everyday set for ordinary Korean text, but no Hanja. A rare syllable or a Chinese character will fall back to another font. The Latin is taken from Source Serif.
1 Regular weight. For essays or a poetry collection in Korean it reads calmly; for headings, choose a heavier face.
