Ubuntu Mono is the fixed-width member of the Ubuntu family. Canonical put up the money for that family in 2010 and 2011, and Dalton Maag handled design and engineering, hinting the outlines by hand for both desktop and phone screens.
Coverage reaches past Latin into Greek and Cyrillic, 1,224 characters in all, which counts for something when a log file mixes alphabets.
4 styles: Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic. It is a compact mono, so more columns fit across a split screen. 2 stylistic sets are tucked in as well.
